ECON – European Cooperation Network for Ethical AI

ECON – European Cooperation Network for Ethical AI is a non-profit organisation founded in Rome in 2025, following two years of informal collaboration among European organisations and professionals. While deeply rooted in European values such as transparency, cooperation, human dignity and responsible innovation, ECON does not impose geographical limits. Any organisation worldwide that shares the principles of ethical and human-centred AI is welcome.

ECON was created to address a real need: a high-quality, accessible and ethically grounded space where organisations can explore artificial intelligence, understand its implications and design meaningful initiatives without the weight of bureaucracy. It is a place where ethics, regulation and practical collaboration meet.

The support of ETHICAI strengthens ECON’s identity, ensuring that all its activities are grounded in rigorous ethical frameworks, regulatory awareness and methodological clarity.

In 2025, ECON featured two key sessions:

May 28, 2025 – Rome

Launch session dedicated to the Horizon Europe programme, bringing together experts, universities, and stakeholders involved in research and innovation.

December 5, 2025

Annual session focused on the Erasmus+ programme, with a special emphasis on youth, education, and cultural sectors. Looking ahead, the 2026 annual session will take place in Madrid, and the 2027 edition is already planned for Sofia, continuing ECON’s commitment to building a pan-European space for cooperation, innovation, and shared strategic vision.
