ECON EVENT in BRUSSELS, 2025
Times of high performance and excellence require communication, partnership, and trust among professionals. In our current era of Artificial Intelligence (AI), where reality is constantly evolving, now more than ever, there needs to be an active effort towards understanding and implementing these changing realities. Businesses are continuously employing AI in various ways to improve efficiency, optimize workflow, and reduce costs. Thanks to constant advancements, AI has positioned itself as a precious resource for companies across multiple industries and sectors, sparking discussions among professionals and users.
To better understand how AI is transforming every workspace and their own personal dynamics, on December 5th, in Brussels, the third edition of the ECON event took place. The conference brought together a diverse group of professionals from multiple European countries dedicated to European project implementation and provided them a space to share their experiences and work towards overcoming present challenges. The 2025 edition focused on the transformative power of AI and its possible impact on future European projects. Experts from a multitude of successful organizations and associations came together to discuss the uncertain future of European project implementation and management in a continuously growing Europe where the pursuit of has become imperative.
AI has revolutionized our workspaces, decision-making processes, and collaborative structures, establishing itself as one of the most transformative tools in the history of European project management. Its implementation in our work practices represents the next logical step towards a more efficient and coordinated future. During ECON 2025, discussions emphasized a responsible and ethical AI implementation aligned with EU standards to ensure innovation and provide a conscious approach towards an AI-powered workforce.
The president of the collaboration network, Ines Caloisi, inaugurated the event with a keynote presentation that demonstrated the transformation in European project management provided by AI implementation. The presentation highlighted the newfound competences and capabilities that now AI can afford professionals of the sector.
Participants and contributors had the opportunity to share their personal vision on AI’s role in their sector and speculate on the recent evolution of their communities. These interventions showcased upcoming initiatives and helped participants identify and explore partnerships and cross-border collaborations for 2026 and beyond. Another key objective of ECON 2025 was to foster and strengthen this European network by enabling organizations to improve their capacities and expand their reach.
The event concluded with thematic discussion groups where participants explored the potential creation of collaborative platforms such as Erasmus VET, Erasmus Youth, and other EU initiatives.
In today’s professional landscape, we must understand AI not as a competitor, but as an integral component of contemporary project management. It is part of our responsibility as a connected and constantly developing community to embrace these technologies and work towards innovation. ECON 2025 closed the year with renewed optimism and a stimulated commitment in the belief that these alliances will continue to positively impact the future of the European Nation and our future as contributors.
